国际仿生工程学会秘书处设在吉林大学，正式成立于2011年底。秘书处有三名成员负责协会的日常事务，包括会员管理、活动组织、协作探索和信息服务。2020年6月，北京秘书处和威海秘书处分别作为ISBE的代表机构成立。国际仿生工程学会威海秘书处(以下简称威海秘书处)，属于学会秘书处派出机构，由学会秘书处统一领导。

秘书处职责：宣传学会，发展会员;承办学术会议和科技展览;国际仿生网络平台建设与运维;推进仿生科技成果转化;普及仿生科学技术知；负责学会出版物的运营与推广。

ISBE publishes three international peer-reviewed academic journals – Journal of Bionic Engineering (JBE), Droplet, and Advanced Bionics (ABS). The detailed information of the journals is as follows:

1. Journal of Bionic Engineering (JBE)

JBE applies insight from nature and biological systems to solve bionic engineering challenges; offers research on kinematical mechanics and control of animal locomotion; explores bioinspired computation methods and artificial intelligence.

The topics of JBE include but are not limited to:

* Mechanisms, kinematical mechanics and control of animal locomotion, development of mobile robots with walking (running and crawling), swimming or flying abilities inspired by animal locomotion. 

* Structures, morphologies, composition and physical properties of natural and biomaterials; fabrication of new materials mimicking the properties and functions of natural and biomaterials.

* Biomedical materials, artificial organs and tissue engineering for medical applications; rehabilitation equipment and devices. Development of bioinspired computation methods and artificial intelligence for engineering applications.

2. Droplet 

Droplet covers the design, synthesis, fabrication, characterization, manipulation, control, application and commercialization of structures, devices and systems that involve droplets and related objects from microscopic to macroscopic scales. 

Droplet has received its first Impact Factor of 9.1, ranking 23rd out of 187 journals in the "PHYSICS, APPLIED" category (JCR Q1).

ABS is an international peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes original research papers, reviews, letters, editorials, highlights, perspectives, comments and news.

ABS focuses on the study of novel principles and functions observed in biological systems, as well as the application of this knowledge to address real-world scientific challenges.
